PUP Talk – 16 It’s Raining!
みなさん、こんにちはーーー！
長久手校 外国人先生のSHELLAです。
もう夏ですか？
夏だよっていう人と、
まだだよっていう人がいますが
梅雨であることは間違いないです。
カレンダーでは６月２１日から
夏になっていますよね。
今朝は、かなりの大雨で驚きましたが
キッズと交わす英会話について
今日も元気に
レッスンしていきましょう！
Some may say it is and others may say it’s not;
but the most appropriate season to say now would be it’s “Rainy season”. 
That’s right! If we base it on the calendar, Summer in Japan will start on the 21st of June. 
Hello Everyone!
How have you been? This is Shella from Kikko Nagakute. 
It’s a little late but let me share some words and sentences to use during the rainy season. Let’s start!
1. Umbrella
Example:
どこに私の傘を置いていいですか？
私はカラフルな傘を持っています。
- Where can I put my umbrella?
- I have a colorful umbrella.
2. Raincoat
Example:
私のレインコートは私のバッグの中にあります。
あらいやだ！ レインコートを忘れちゃった！
- My raincoat is in my bag.
- Oh no! I forgot my raincoat!
3. Rain boots
Example:
これは誰のレインブーツですか？ 「それは私のものです。」
彼女はレインブーツを履いています。
- Whose rain boots are these? “It’s mine.”
- She is wearing rain boots.
4. Puddle
Example:
ママ、水たまりで遊んでいい？
外で水たまりを見たよ。
- Mommy, can I play in the puddle?
- I saw a puddle outside.
5. “It’s raining cats and dogs!”
土砂降りです。
This is a very common English idiom that means it’s raining very hard.
大雨ですという意味で、
犬や猫が空から降ってくるって
意味ではありませんよ。
It does not mean that cats and dogs are falling from the sky.
Example:
外出しないでね！ 土砂降りだよ。
お父さんは明日は大雨だろうと言いました。
- Don’t go out! It’s raining cats and dogs.
- My dad said it will rain cats and dogs tomorrow.
Well then, that will be all for now. I hope you will use these words and sentences so your kids will also follow and learn.
